Toruń Toruń
Toruń is one of the most-beautiful small cities located in the very centre of Europe. Its undeniable atmosphere is created by huge Gothic monuments, the Vistula flowing through the centre of the city, the history of aromatic gingerbread, magical narrow, medieval streets and bustling old local markets, which today are full of tourists from different parts of the world. We invite you to learn about the mysteries of the Nicolaus Copernicus Castle:

1. Copernicus Castle - a two-hour walk around the medieval townThe tour includes a the Old Town Square, the Cathedral of St. Johns, and the House of Copernicus. You’ll also have the opportunity to try maintain your balance when standing with your back towards the Leaning Tower. Then on to Broad Street, and from there to the ruins of the Teutonic Castle, which is a walk along the city walls and gates. During the tour, you’ll learn more about the life and secrets of the most-famous astronomer – Nicolaus Copernicus – as well as the Teutonic Knights, who founded the city. You will learn the legend of gingerbread Katherine and of the Raftsman, who used his violin to save the city from a plague of frogs, making them "dance while he played". 

2. Gingerbread and CopernicusA two-hour stroll around the most-important monuments of Toruń and a visit to the Museum of Gingerbread for a workshop on the production of Toruń's famous delicacies.As well as seeing the beautiful sights of Toruń, this tour guarantees a visit to the Live Museum of Gingerbread. The tour includes a tour of the Old Town Square, the Cathedral of St. John, and the House of Copernicus. You’ll also have the opportunity to try maintain your balance when standing with your back towards the Leaning Tower. Then on to Broad Street, and from there over to the ruins of the Teutonic Castle, which is a walk along the city walls and gates. During the tour, you’ll learn more about the life and secrets of the most-famous astronomer – Nicolaus Copernicus – as well as the Teutonic Knights, who founded the city. 3. "He stopped the sun and moved the earth ..."An hour and a half tour with Nicolaus Copernicus. During the walk, you’ll learn interesting facts about the life of the most-famous Polish astronomer, who was born in Toruń, and then visit the family home, located here till today. The walk will take you through places that Nick liked to visit, as well as the Cathedral, in which he was baptised. You’ll learn many facts about the life of the great Pole, as well as some of his secrets. At the end of the walk, you can visit the Planetarium, and feel like you’re in heaven. 

4. Gingerbread loveA three-hour culinary tour tasting Toruń's most-delicious baked goods. The walk will begin with a gingerbread-making workshop where you will learn all about the history of this very aromatic cake, as well as ways of kneading it. Practise kneading and moulding gingerbread, and then stroll to a restaurant for a gingerbread lunch. Afterwards, it’s time for another walk and a cup of coffee with gingerbread on the side! 

5. Impregnable fortressA three-hour tour for those who love military history and nineteenth-century fortresses. The car tour takes you through both known and unknown forts of Toruń. One of the highlights is Fort IV, which is Toruń's most famous fort and currently has a hostel and restaurant. We’ll also see less-popular buildings. You’ll hear extraordinary stories of Prussian soldiers who lived and worked here. 

6. A visit to the vineyardThe Lower Vistula Valley is a land of Mennonites – people who settled and subdued these inhospitable floodplains. Their legacy can be seen today, preserved in the old homes, leaning willows and plots of land of equal chequerboard sizes. Take a trip to this unique land, which today is famous for the production of organic foods and a small family vineyard, where while drinking in the view of the valley, you can forget about the whole world ...The tour also includes a visit to “Vineyard at a Plate” in Topolno. There, you’ll taste four wines from the vineyard accompanied by bread and a selection of cheeses. During the tour, you’ll learn about the winery and how it came about.Then on to Chełmno – the city of lovers and birthplace of the great surgeon L. Rydygier.
